This page lists the known issues currently affecting Soocial users
Soocial is still in beta — this means you might run into glitches and things might break. We'd like to warn you, so that you can help us find, track down and squash the existing issues and bugs. The following list provides known issues that we are working hard on to solve, please keep these in mind as you try out our sync service.
Contacts with a picture can break syncing
In some cases syncs will fail if a contact has a picture. This is common on most phones (most Nokia's and SonyEricsson ), the Synthesis iPhone client. Sync with OSX and Outlook will not sync fail but won't sync photo's across.
OSX sync client crashes
When using 'Get changes' interval syncing on OSX (in stead of syncing manually by choosing 'Sync now') the client sometimes gets into a broken state. In order to fix this follow the instructions in this thread.
Syncing fails with certain contacts
Some contacts contain nasty characters or lengthy fields that totally mess up our sync server or our web application.
Possible work arounds:
Take other sync tools out of the equation
Sync tools like MobileMe, Plaxo or Goosync could be a problem for Soocial's sync at this point. Turn them these off for testing purposes and see if the problem persists. If so then let us know - if not then also let us know.
Remove pictures from contacts
This can help in finishing syncs for 2 reasons: 1) without pictures syncing doesn't take as long so you will get less time outs. 2) crashes of our sync server are less likely on contacts without a picture.
